Oak console tables
Oak console tables are one of the most popular pieces of living room furniture in oak that people enjoy in the home. Most often, they are placed in hallways near the front door of the residence, and are a spot traditionally reserved for telephones, address books, notepads, and dishes for keys. Alternatively, they are also often placed in the living room, where they are used for a similar purpose as those placed in entryways. They are different from standard tables, desks and dining tables in that they are usually much taller and narrower than these other kinds of table; this means that they are perfectly suited for areas where space is limited.
When oak console tables first became popular, it was common for the design to feature two legs at the front, with the back being attached directly to the wall. This of course limits where this style of table can be placed, however modern designs such as ours tend to feature four legs of equal length. This gives you the freedom to place your new oak console tables wherever you feel they will look best and be most useful.
Console tables for the home
Our oak console tables are available in a range of styles, colours and sizes to suit your needs. The smallest size we offer features a drawer and shelf, and is perfect for placing beside a couch in your living room or in a small alcove in the hallway without being intrusive. Larger units are available with a shelf and either two or three drawers and are perfect for making a statement in larger more open spaces.
Caring for oak console tables
A choice of available finishes for oak console tables include a warm, mid toned natural oak finish, and options with natural oak tabletops and cream painted drawers and legs. If you do choose a cream painted finish then there's no need to worry about finding other cream painted living room furniture to match as we stock painted sideboards and oak TV stands, plus much more in matching painted finishes. All of our oak console tables are designed to complement traditional and contemporary interiors, and their handsome looks make them ideal for displaying your favourite photographs, books, pictures, decorative china, and more. To keep your oak console tables looking their best, wipe them clean with a soft clean cloth. If possible, locate your table away from radiators as the dry heat they produce can warp natural wood over time.
